It’s an ineffective retort for two reasons.

There were no complaints then.
you’re able to’t reason with people like that.
But I still find the knots they’ve twisted themselves into amusing.
Playing as anything other than a white man is deemed as unnecessary diversity.
That’s not a point of view worth arguing against.
Countering their arguments is not the answer.
Ignoring is not always the answer either, as these poisonous views fester unchallenged.
And criticising them, thus amplifying them, only sees them grow in prominence too.
I suspect not a lot.
