They were so distractingly bad, in fact, that I quit the game altogether because of them.
The Witcher 3’s side quests couldn’t be more different.
Basic stuff for a veteran witcher like Geralt of Rivia.
But as you investigate, you’re sucked into something deeper, darker, andweirder.
I won’t elaborate further, but trust me: he has a good reason.
Again, I’ll leave it at that.
It’s genius, really.
A lot of lesser RPG side quests show their entire hand before you’ve even done anything.
You deal with them, travel back to the quest giver, and collect your reward.
There’s genuine emotional depth, and moments of real poignancy, buried in some of these side stories.
But sometimes they’re just really entertaining.
I’ve never really gotten over how that quest panned out for me.
